Long before fast fashion and automated production lines, this bobbin played a small part in creating something by hand.
Crafted in France during the 1940s, this textile mill bobbin once spent its days carrying thread through the looms and machinery of a working textile mill. Built to withstand years of daily use, it represents an era when manufacturing was driven by craftsmanship, durability and attention to detail.
Today, its working life may be over, but its story continues.
Carefully preserved and transformed into a one-of-a-kind statement lamp, The Weaver celebrates the beauty of industrial heritage. The original form and character remain intact, while modern electrical components ensure it's ready for decades of use in contemporary homes.
Finished with mustard braided flex, chosen as a nod to the rich colours often found in traditional textile production, the result is a lamp that feels both industrial and warm. It's equally at home in a creative studio, cosy reading corner or character-filled living space.
Professionally rewired with three-core braided gold flex, an inline switch and UK plug, all electrical work has been completed in accordance with current UK and EU regulations.
A piece of history. Reimagined for modern living.
Every lamp comes with a bulb, so it's ready to enjoy when it arrives. Where possible, we'll include the bulb shown in the photos. If it isn't available, we'll send a suitable replacement instead.
